Motherhood comes with a lot of questions—and let’s be real, late-night Google searches usually leave you more overwhelmed than reassured. That’s why we created New Mom School Mount Pleasant: to replace the confusion with expert guidance, research-backed support, and a community that truly gets it.
Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Britta Veneziano, the incredible owner behind New Mom School Mount Pleasant! In this Q&A, Britta shares what inspired them to bring this special community to life, plus answers to some of the top questions new moms ask about our programs.
Let’s dive in!
Why Did You Decide to Open a New Mom School in Mount Pleasant?
I decided to open New Mom School in Mount Pleasant because Charleston has always held a special place in my heart—I attended the College of Charleston and fell in love with the sense of community, charm, and warmth that defines the area. After becoming a mom myself and experiencing the transformative impact of the Newborn Series in California, I knew I wanted to bring that same level of support and connection to other moms. The postpartum season can be incredibly overwhelming, especially for families who may not have close support nearby. I saw Mount Pleasant as a place filled with growing families who could truly benefit from a space where moms feel seen, heard, and cared for. My goal is to help moms build meaningful connections, access expert guidance, and feel less alone during one of life’s most significant transitions. There’s something really special about bringing this program to a place that already means so much to me. I’m honored to help create a village for moms here—one rooted in compassion, education, and community.
Every New Mom School owner shares a common passion: making sure new moms never feel alone. Whether it was navigating postpartum recovery, building confidence, or finding a village of supportive friends, Britta’s story will inspire you to see what’s possible when moms have the right support.
What Topics Do New Mom School Mount Pleasant Classes Cover?
Our signature 8-week series (one 90-minute session per week) covers everything new moms need to thrive, including:
✔️ Postpartum recovery and self-care strategies
✔️ Newborn sleep and feeding guidance
✔️ Mental health and emotional well-being
✔️ Finding your identity beyond motherhood
✔️ Navigating relationship changes and communication
✔️ Plus much more!
Every week, we bring in trusted professionals like pediatricians, lactation consultants, sleep specialists, and mental health experts to share insights—and answer every real-world question you have.
“I’ve seen time and time again how impactful the expert sessions are—whether it’s helping a mom feel more confident about feeding, less anxious about sleep, or simply validated in what she’s going through. These moments often spark real transformation. Moms leave not only with helpful tools, but with a sense of calm and clarity they didn’t have before. It’s one of my favorite parts of the series to witness.”
Can I Join New Mom School Classes if I’m Pregnant?
Yes— and it’s actually encouraged!
While our classes officially begin after your baby is born (starting around 3 weeks old), we recommend pre-registering while you’re still pregnant. Here’s why:
- You lock in your spot (classes often fill quickly!)
- You receive a $50 expectant mom discount
- It’s risk-free: we offer 100% refunds if your plans change
“So many moms tell me that signing up during pregnancy gave them something to look forward to in those early, emotional postpartum days. It’s one less decision to make after baby arrives—and a comforting reminder that support is already waiting for you on the other side.”

How Big Are the Class Sizes at New Mom School Mount Pleasant?
We keep our groups intentionally small—typically between 10–14 moms—to create a safe, supportive space for real conversations, shared experiences, and lasting friendships.
Many of our moms go on to form lifelong bonds that extend well beyond the 8-week series. ❤️
One of my favorite stories is about two moms who met in our Newborn Series and instantly clicked. They started out swapping tips and encouragement during class, and by the end of the series, they had coordinated a nanny share and were doing weekly walks together with their babies. What started as a casual connection turned into a beautiful friendship—and a practical support system that made returning to work feel a little less overwhelming. That’s the kind of community that grows here.

Can I Get the Cost of Classes Covered by Insurance or My Employer?
Often, yes! Many health insurance plans and employer education funds cover part—or sometimes all—of the program cost.
We’ll happily provide the paperwork and receipts you need to submit for potential reimbursement. It’s always worth checking with your HR department or insurance provider!
My Partner’s Skeptical About the Cost. What Can I Say?
It’s completely normal for partners to have questions. Here’s what we tell them:
When a mom feels confident, supported, and emotionally healthy, the whole family benefits.
- Mom’s mental and emotional health improves
- Partner relationships are stronger
- Babies feel more secure and connected
Our program isn’t just an investment in mom—it’s an investment in the entire family’s well-being.
“I’ve had moms tell me that their partners noticed a huge difference in them just a few weeks into the program—more confidence, less stress, and more joy in the day-to-day. One mom shared that the tools she learned helped her communicate better with her partner and feel more like a team during those tough early weeks. This program may focus on moms, but the ripple effect on the entire family is incredibly powerful.”
