Motherhood comes with a lot of questions. Let’s be real, middle of the night Google searches usually leave you more overwhelmed than reassured. That’s why we created New Mom School Rancho Cucamonga: to replace the confusion with expert guidance, research-backed support, and a community that truly gets it.
Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Daniela Mejia, the incredible owner behind New Mom School Rancho Cucamonga! In this Q&A, Daniela Mejia shares what inspired them to bring this special community to life, plus answers to some of the top questions new moms ask about our programs.
Let’s dive in!
Why Did You Decide to Open a New Mom School in Rancho Cucamonga?
After having my son, I was completely overwhelmed by the realities of postpartum life. I was recovering from an unplanned C-section, processing a traumatic birth, and trying to adjust to my new role as a mom. Like many first-time moms, I thought I had enough support from my family and husband. But deep down, I knew something was missing.
A friend told me about New Mom School, and although I wasn’t sure I needed anything extra, I decided to give it a try. I made the drive from Rancho Cucamonga to Costa Mesa for what I assumed were casual mom-and-baby classes. I quickly realized these weren’t just classes, they were transformative.
I learned so much about myself and my baby through licensed expert-led sessions, but even more healing came from talking with other moms who were also in the thick of it. One mom had a similar birth story to mine, and just being able to connect and feel understood was incredibly therapeutic.
What struck me most, though, was this: Why didn’t something like this exist closer to home? There was a noticeable lack of postpartum support in the Inland Empire. That’s when it clicked. I needed to bring this level of support to moms in my own community.
Fast forward to today, nearly a year since we opened our doors at New Mom School Rancho Cucamonga and I’m proud every single day. I know we’re showing up for moms in a deeply meaningful way. And the truth is, a mom will always remember who showed up for her in those tender postpartum weeks.
Every New Mom School owner shares a common passion: making sure new moms never feel alone. Whether it was navigating postpartum recovery, building confidence, or finding a village of supportive friends, Daniela Mejia’s story will inspire you to see what’s possible when moms have the right support.
What Topics Do New Mom School Rancho Cucamonga Classes Cover?
Our signature 8-week series (one 90-minute session per week) covers everything new moms need to thrive, including:
✔️ Postpartum recovery and self-care strategies
✔️ Newborn sleep and feeding guidance
✔️ Mental health and emotional well-being
✔️ Finding your identity beyond motherhood
✔️ Navigating relationship changes and communication
✔️ Plus much more!
Every week, we bring in trusted professionals like pediatricians, lactation consultants, sleep specialists, and mental health experts to share insights and answer every real-world question you have.
One of the things that makes our program so unique is our lineup of visiting experts. Every week, our moms meet with licensed professionals from lactation consultants to sleep coaches and therapists. These aren’t just internet opinions; they’re up-to-date, evidence-based insights from certified professionals who specialize in postpartum care and early parenting.
What I love most is watching moms go from feeling unsure to feeling empowered. As I often say, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” Whether it’s newborn sleep, starting solids, early motor development, or managing postpartum emotions, these sessions give moms real tools they can use and confidence in the choices they’re making.
Moms leave class saying, “I didn’t even know I needed that information but now I feel so much more prepared.” That’s the magic of New Mom School.
Can I Join New Mom School Classes if I’m Pregnant?
Yes— and it’s actually encouraged!
While our classes officially begin after your baby is born (starting around 3 weeks old), we recommend pre-registering while you’re still pregnant. Here’s why:
- You lock in your spot (classes often fill quickly!)
- You receive a $50 expectant mom discount
- It’s risk-free: we offer 100% refunds if your plans change
Here’s the thing, newborn life is unpredictable. Between the sleepless nights and the fog of recovery, it’s hard to even find time to eat a meal, let alone search for the right mom support group. That’s why so many expecting moms choose to register for New Mom School while still pregnant.
Being proactive gives them peace of mind knowing they have a plan for postpartum support and trust me, that’s one less thing to worry about when the baby arrives. Plus, our classes often sell out, so registering early not only secures a spot but also qualifies for our early bird discount.
We like to say: “Adding New Mom School to your nesting checklist is just as important as setting up the nursery.” It also makes an incredible baby shower gift!

How Big Are the Class Sizes at New Mom School Rancho Cucamonga?
We keep our groups intentionally small—typically between 10–14 moms—to create a safe, supportive space for real conversations, shared experiences, and lasting friendships.
Many of our moms go on to form lifelong bonds that extend well beyond the 8-week series. ❤️
One of the most beautiful things I’ve seen since opening our doors is the deep, lasting friendships that form between moms in our program.
By Week 2 or 3 of the series, many moms are grabbing coffee or lunch after class. Moms in our Rising Toddler class often plan playdates outside of class, and I’ve even seen entire groups come together to celebrate each other’s babies’ first birthdays! Some have even started book clubs and continue to meet regularly.
Because our classes are grouped by baby’s birth date, moms naturally connect with others going through the same stage of development, same nap schedules, same feeding questions, same emotional rollercoasters. It makes forming real, meaningful connections so much easier.
If you’ve ever felt lonely or isolated in your postpartum journey, this is where the community begins.

Can I Get the Cost of Classes Covered by Insurance or My Employer?
Often, yes! Many health insurance plans and employer education funds cover part—or sometimes all—of the program cost.
We’ll happily provide the paperwork and receipts you need to submit for potential reimbursement. It’s always worth checking with your HR department or insurance provider!
My Partner’s Skeptical About the Cost. What Can I Say? It’s completely normal for partners to have questions. Here’s what we tell them: When a mom feels confident, supported, and emotionally healthy, the whole family benefits.
- Mom’s mental and emotional health improves
- Partner relationships are stronger
- Babies feel more secure and connected
It’s completely normal for partners to feel hesitant about investing in a postpartum support class, especially with all the expenses that come with a new baby. But I always come back to this one story that truly shows why this program is so much more than just a class.
One mom joined our Newborn Class shortly after the birth of her second baby. She was feeling totally drained, physically, emotionally, and mentally, and she felt like her partner didn’t fully understand what she was going through. That changed after one of our weekly sessions focused on relationships and communication in the postpartum period. She went home and opened up a conversation with her partner using the language and tools we had covered in class. She later shared with me that it was the first real conversation they’d had in weeks and for the first time since the baby arrived, she felt seen. They both cried, connected, and began working together as a team again. It’s also important to highlight that everything mom learns in class is shared with her partner, helping both of them feel more confident in their parenting decisions. New Mom School doesn’t just offer parenting tips, it creates space for healing, growth, and reconnection. And for many families, that is worth every penny.
Our program isn’t just an investment in mom—it’s an investment in the entire family’s well-being.
